  • No, they must always be used in a fireplace with a chimney or escape provided by some kind of operable venting. FC's logs are called "vented" gas logs and are approved for all wood-burning fireplaces.

  • Vented logs can only be used in a fireplace that allows for the escape of fumes up through a vent or chimney. Unvented logs may be used in a free-standing fireplace without a vent or a chimney.

  • They're made of all-ceramic materials. Even the refractory binder as well as fillers are volcanic ceramic materials. The dyes, hand-painted on each log, give them their astonishing, realistic appearance. The finished log is reinforced with steel rods as a protective measure.

  • Yes, Formation Creation's gas logs are guaranteed for life against breakage. Simply return any broken logs to the licensed dealer from which they were acquired with proof of purchase and the replacement logs will be returned for the cost of shipping. This guarantee is valid only to the original purchaser. Any Formation Creation gas logs that are used outdoors, purchased second hand or from someone other than a licensed dealer are not subject to this warranty.

  • Yes, they are. Using natural or propane gas in a fireplace helps to preserve our forested lands. Natural gas, when used appropriately, preserves the ecosystem of our planet by decreasing the rate of destruction of our forests and its wildlife.

  • Yes. Use a flat spatula or wide-bladed knife with a long handle to dig away the sand to get more flames or to make small mounds with the sand to get less.

  • FC gas fire logs pass all Federal standards and have been approved and certified by OMNI-Test Laboratories, Inc. (see Heating Capacities for BTU details.)
